So-Safe apprehends motorbikes snatchers on fresh attack in Ogun

The Ogun State Community Social Orientation and Safety Corps code-named So-Safe Corps, an arm of the Ogun State Government established to ensure the security and safety of the property of the citizenry has arrested notorious motorbikes snatchers in Ogun.

The statement is contained in the press release issued from the Office of the State Commander of the agency, Commander (Dr) Soji Ganzallo through the office of the Director of Information and Public Relations of the agency.

The statement noted that around 11 am on 30th June, 2023 one Mr Lawal Kazeem reported his missing motorbike with number plate JBD 933 VZ. He added that the motorbike was suspected stolen from his farmland in Abapawa Community in Ijebu Ode Local Government Area.

Ganzallo noted that officers of the agency were put on their toes to bring to book those that perpetrated the act and they were put on surveillance.

The commander disclosed that on 19th July 2023, two middle-aged men, Mr Okoro Ogudu popularly called ‘Chi Boy’, 25 years old and Okechukwu Eze, 28 years old and residents of Ibadan, Oyo State, suspected to be the alleged snatchers of the said motorbike, were sighted on the spot where the motorbike was parked on the farmland.

He said that one of the two suspects brought out a cutlass and the man ran for his life. The So-Safe Office at Itoro was contacted to save the victim’s life and the officers swung into action immediately.

Ganzallo further revealed that the Ijebu Ode Zonal Command Team led by ACC Marcus Ayankoya swift response made possible the arrest of the suspects and protecting the victim.

“During the preliminary investigation of the agency, the victim could recognise the suspects as the same people who ran away from the spot of the theft in the month of June. Also, the cloth put on by one of the suspects was kept under the seat of the stolen motorbike he said.

“Exhibit found with the alleged snatchers are 2 litres of PMS (petrol), 2 cutlasses, motorbikes tools of various kinds, 1 motorbike key, 1 baby cloth, and 6 clothes for adults.

“The suspects and the exhibit found with them had been transferred to the Nigeria Police Force, Omu Police Divisional Headquarter for further investigation and likely prosecution,” Ganzallo said.
