Radio presenter, one other die in Osun road crash

A radio presenter and one other person have died in an auto crash on Ilesa-Ile-Ife expressway on Monday, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has said.
Osun State FRSC Sector Commander Kudirat Ibrahim told newsmen in Osogbo that the accident which involved a luxury bus and a car happened opposite Old Sazo Oil Station, Ilesa at 3:05 am.
It was learnt that the radio presenter with a private station in Ilesa was on his way to work in his Peugeot car when the accident happened.
He was with two others in the car, one of whom also died in the accident.
The sector commander said the injured person had been taken to Wesley Guild Hospital, Ilesa for treatment.
She said: “The accident occurred on Monday morning at 3:05 a.m. involving a luxury bus with registration number LND 322XY and a Peugeot 406 with registration number SMK 312 GQ.
“About 54 persons were involved in the incident which led to the death of two persons while one person sustained injury.
“The deceased have been taken to a morgue in Ilesa, while the only victim with severe injury has been rushed to Wesley Guild Hospital in Ilesa for further treatment.”
According to Ibrahim, the accident was caused excess speed by the drivers of both vehicles.
She advised road users to always minimise speed on highways and obey traffic rules.
