Police nab suspected bridge railings vandals in Lagos

Operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) on Friday, July 15, 2022, around 3:00 am arrested two suspected vandals with a pile of already cut railings and a hacksaw on the overhead bridge at the Trade Fair Complex, Ojo.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Lagos State Command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, said the suspects are Abdullateef Abdulrahim ‘m’, 22 and Aliyu Lawan ‘m’, 16 years.

He added that the Commander, Rapid Response Squad (RRS), CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi, had in response to credible intelligence on crime in the area directed an operation that led to the arrest of the suspects.

Hundeyin stated that the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alabi, has directed that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Yaba for further investigations to detect and crush the criminal network behind the incessant destruction of those infrastructure and their eventual prosecution.
