Police nab suspected armed robber in A’Ibom

The Akwa Ibom State police have arrested a suspected member of Island Confraternity, Akpana Abana, aka, Small Lighter.
It was gathered that the suspect was trying to snatch a motorbike for robbery before he was rounded up by residents of Ikot Edong Afaha Obo community in the Ukanafun Local Government Area.
The suspect was said to have unnoticeably entered one Saturday Okon Sampson’s compound in the community and attempted to whisk away the said motorbike before he was sighted by the indigenes, who the raised alarm.
Abana confessed that his gang members, who have been terrorising communities in Ukanafun were on the run following a recent onslaught against them by security agencies in the state.
The suspect also said that his gang was responsible for many robbery incidence in the area.
He is currently being held at the Ukanafun Division of the Nigeria Police.
