Police nab driver, guarantor for stealing vehicle three weeks after employment

Detectives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested a driver, Ortema Paul ‘m’, aged 41 within the Ojodu area of Lagos State.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, said Paul was apprehended while he was going to sell off his employer’s 2021 Toyota Hilux van for N20,000,000.
According to Hundeyin, the suspect was arrested on August 9, 2022, alongside his guarantor, Iorfa Paul ‘m’, aged 40 and Ojo Solomon ‘m’, aged 29, who was contracted to locate and disable the tracker in the vehicle.
He said: “The arrest followed the launching of a swift investigation into the matter immediately; a report of the stealing was received.”
He added that the suspects will be arraigned at the end of the investigation.
The PPRO added that the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, Abiodun Alabi, assures residents of the state that the command will continue to work towards the decimation of crime and criminality in the Centre of Excellence.
