Police arrest three suspects for robbing provision store

Police in Ogun State have apprehended three suspects who allegedly robbed a provision/drinks store and dispossessed the owner, one Tope Alabi (not the gospel singer) of huge sums.
The suspects were arrested on Thursday, July 22, 2021, at Oke-Ore, in the Atan-Ota area of Ogun State.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said the suspects are Anu Ibikunle; Rasheed Bisiriyu, and Adebowale Dada.
Oyeyemi stated that the police were able to arrest the suspects following a distress call they received from Atan-Ota Divisional headquarters of the command around 9.45 pm intimating them of the men of the underworld invading a provision and drinks shop at Oke Ore area.
The stated that the owner, one Tope Alabi was held hostage by the hoodlums.
Oyeyemi noted that acting on the distress call, the Divisional Police Officer, Atan-Ota, CSP Abolade Oladigbolu, mobilised his men and moved to the robbery scene.
According to him, when the suspects sighted the policemen, attacked the policemen before taking to their heels.
“They were hotly chased and the three of them were subsequently apprehended,” he said.
He said the police also recovered one locally made pistol; two live cartridges and assorted dangerous charms from the hoodlums.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Edward Ajogun, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for discreet investigation. The CP also appealed to members of the public to always inform the police on time whenever they notice any distressing situation.
