Police arrest sex maniac, impersonator in A’Ibom

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command said it has arrested an impersonator, one Imaobong Kelvin Akpan for using a fake Facebook account to lure ladies into sexual intercourse.

It was gathered that who is also a fraudster impersonated the Commissioner for Lands and Water Resources, Umo Eno.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, SP Odiko Macdon, the suspect also used a fake Facebook account, posing as the Personal Assistant to the commissioner to have sexual intercourse with unsuspecting ladies at different hotels with a promise to assist them secure jobs.

Parading the suspect, Macdon said the suspect who has confessed to the crime also defraud unsuspecting members of the public of millions of naira.

He said: “The suspect who is a notorious fraudster and sex maniac confessed to having fraudulently created the Facebook account.

“He uses the said account to lure innocent and unsuspecting ladies to hotels, has carnal knowledge of them with a promise to assist them secure jobs while defrauding others of various sums of money running into millions.

“He succeeded in luring more than 10 ladies through the fraudulent Facebook account and had sexual intercourse with them at various hotels while posing as the Personal Assistant to the Honourable Commissioner.”

Exhibits recovered from the suspect includes two Glo, two Airtel, and one MTN sim card, two phones, seven dollars and five yuan.

While speaking to newsmen, the suspect, Akpan said he did not know what pushed him into the act.

Meanwhile the Commissioner of Police, Andrew Amiengheme has warned fraudsters, imposters and other criminal elements to desist from the act, adding that the command would spare no resource in bringing down the perpetrators.
