Police arrest scores of homosexuals in Anambra

Police in Dunukofia Local Government Area of Anambra State have apprehended many homosexuals in the area.

The police were said to have raided a hotel, where the homosexuals were having a party following a tip off.

“The officers arrested an undisclosed number of them, mostly men of different age brackets,” a policeman who did not want his name in print, said.

An indigene of the community who buttressed the police source added: “The homosexuals were holding a party at the facility when trouble ensued, leading to invitation of policemen from Ukpo Police Division.

“The suspects attempted fleeing from all directions in the hotel when policemen arrived, leading to destruction of ceilings and other items in the facility.

“The suspects were taken to the Police Anti-cult Office in Ukpo for investigations.”

The Police Public Relations Officer, Anambra State Command, Haruna Mohammed, stated that he had yet to be informed of the arrest.
