Police arrest man for defiling daughter

*Nab seven suspected cultists

The police operatives attached to Ipakodo Division, Ikorodu, on June 7, 2021 around 1 pm, arrested one Kayode Adeyanju, ‘m,’ 45, of Redeemed Church, Tinubu Estate, Ibeshe, Ikorodu, Lagos State, for defiling his 14 years old biological daughter.

The survivor personally reported the case at Ipakodo Police Station, Ikorodu on the June 7, 2021, after her horrible ordeal in the hands of her father and the police operatives arrested the suspect.

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, Hakeem Odumosu, condemned the child’s defilement and ordered that the case be transferred to the Gender Unit of the Command for further investigation.

Similarly, police operatives attached to Morogbo Division of Lagos State on Sunday, June 13, 2021, around 10 am, on a tip off from the management of House 2 Hotel, Igbekele Morogbo, Lagos State, that some boys suspected to be cultists were holding a meeting in the hotel, arrested seven of them.

The suspects are Hameed Salami, ‘m,’ 35, Ogunlade Adewale, ‘m,’ 30, Sunday Ogbemudia, ‘m,’ 36, Okekunle Segun, ‘m,’ 26, Imole Kingsley, ‘m,’ 23, Rasak Lekan, ‘m,’ 26, and Osuya Innocent, ‘m,’ 23.

Items recovered from them include one locally made pistol, two live cartridges, one axe, and assorted charms.

Odumosu has ordered that the case be transferred to the Command’s Special Squad, Ikeja, for discreet investigation.

Odumosu, however, reiterated the command’s commitment to continually tackle cultism and all sorts of crimes and criminality in Lagos State as all hands are on deck to improve on the already established security architecture of the state.
