Police arrest man for defiling 13-year-old girl to death

The operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested one Princewill Tabi of No. 4, Olanrewaju Street, Ejigbo, Lagos for defiling a 13-year-old girl, Favor Okechukwu to death.

Favor was said to have been sent on errand by her mother to buy a carton of Gala at Olanrewaju Street, Ejigbo but could not return after many hours.

A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, noted that a search party was raised to look for her, till her father came back from work and started looking for her.

The statement read, “Today being 30/09/2020, around 2030hrs, one Favor Okechukwu, 13 years was sent on errand by her mother to buy a carton of Gala for her at Olanrewaju street, Ejigbo but when Favor did not return  on time, a search  party was raised to look for her, till when her father came back from work and himself started looking for the girl.

“Later information got to them that a girl had been raped to death at No.4, Olanrewaju street Ejigbo.

“On getting there, the body of Favor Okechukwu was found dead in a room that belongs to one Ajom  Princewill Tabi at No.4, Olanrewaju street, Ejigbo, Lagos.

“The body was found stark naked with blood flowing out of her private part. The said Princewill Tabi has been arrested and detained.”

According Adejobi, the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, has ordered for thorough investigation into the case.

He added that the CP condemned the barbaric act, and vowed to fight rape, defilement, and other crimes headlong in Lagos state.
