Police arrest 50 years old man for parading himself as legal practitioner

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a 50-year-old man, Azeez Agboola, for unlawfully parading himself as a legal practitioner in court.
It was learnt that the suspect and resident of Oko Afor area of Badagry, Lagos State, was arrested when he appeared at the Chief Magistrate Court, Agbara as counsel before Chief Magistrate B.I. Ilo.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Ogun State Command, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, said on Thursday that the accused presentation in court aroused the suspicion of the Chief Magistrate, who invite the police to arrest him for proper interrogation with a view to verifying his claims of being a lawyer.
“Upon his arrest, the suspect was personally interrogated by the DPO Agbara division, SP Dahiru Saleh, and he confessed that though he read law in the university, he has not been called to Bar since he has not passed the law school examination,” Oyeyemi noted.
Meanwhile, the state Commissioner of Police, CP Edward Awolowo Ajogun has ordered that the suspect be charged as soon as possible.
