A prominent pro-APC group, G.37, has appointed former House of Representatives member, the Honourable Cletus Obun, to head a 12-man solidarity delegation to Osun State ahead of the upcoming governorship election.

The delegation, comprising two representatives from each of Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones, is tasked with bolstering the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign and participating in key activities leading up to the poll scheduled for 15 August.

The group’s Planning and Strategy Officer, Mr Miriki Ebikibina, announced the move in a statement released on Sunday. He noted that the mission is a direct outcome of resolutions reached during a recent consultative visit to the APC National Deputy Chairman (South), Dr Ben Nwoye, in Abuja.

According to Ebikibina, the visit served to reaffirm G.37’s unwavering commitment to supporting the APC in both off-cycle and general elections across the federation.

“The delegation will provide essential moral support to the party and is scheduled to attend the APC’s grand finale campaign rally in Osun,” Ebikibina stated.

The leadership of the delegation includes Hon. Cletus Obun as Chairman, Hon. Jumoke Anifowoshe as Secretary, and Comrade Abba Yaro as Organising Secretary. Other prominent members include Alhaji Haddy Ametuo and Mr Ebikibina himself.

During the Abuja meeting, Dr Nwoye reportedly commended G.37 for its vision and urged members to remain steadfast in strengthening the party’s structures at both state and national levels, assuring them of the party leadership’s continued support.

The forum also expressed its gratitude to the Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, and the Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri, for their ongoing encouragement. The statement specifically acknowledged Governor Diri for his recent appointment of Mr Ebikibina as Technical Adviser on General Duties in Bayelsa State.
