Oluwo seeks financial support from Osun govt over marriage expenses
The Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdul-Rasheed Adewale Akanbi has written to Osun State Government to give him financial support to cover part of the expenses to his proposed marriage to Kano Princess.
It was learnt that the king is getting married to a princess from Kano, precisely Ado Bayero Dynasty.
The monarch was said to have budgeted over N20m for the ceremony which he described as a royal wedding within two notable traditional institutions.
Recall that the king had separated from his Canadian queen some years back.
In a letter dated February 8, 2022, and addressed to the Osun State Governor, Gboyega Oyetola, the king made known his intention to marry a princess from the Kano Emirate and precisely the Ado Bayero dynasty.
The letter read: ” I wish to remind your excellency that this kind of royal wedding within two notable traditional institutions in Nigeria will require huge expenses, which necessitates the support of state government financially even logistically.
“Moreover, the estimated amount for the event is above N20,000000 (twenty million naira).
“His excellency, Oba Akanbi relies on you for necessary consideration and approval on this request. ”
