Ogun police nab three land grabbers for attempted murder

Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested three suspected land grabbers on October 25, 2021 while invading Jegede village in the Igbesa area of Ado Odo Ota Local Government Area.
The suspects were said to be arrested with dangerous weapons, which they used to inflict varying degrees of injuries on members of the community.
The suspects Adewale Muyibi; Kamoru Ayodele, and Taofeek Ogundele, were arrested following a distress call made to the policemen at Agbara divisional headquarters that armed hoodlums have invaded Jegede village and were shooting continuously.
Thd Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, said on Wednesday that upon the distress call, the DPO Agbara division, SP Saleh Dahiru, led his men to the scene where six men, namely Sunday Okorie, Shoneye Akeem, Lakan Oloyede, Jimoh Musibau Akande Oyedeji and Hamzat Idiris, who have been shot by the hoodlums were rescued to the hospital for treatment.
He added that three of the hoodlums were apprehended while others escaped.
He stated that the police recovered six live cartridges and 14 expended cartridges from the hoodlums.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Ogun State, Lanre Bankole, has directed that the suspects be transferred to State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Fepartment for discreet investigation.
He added that the CP also directed that the fleeing members of the gang be hunted for and brought to justice.
According to Oyeyemi, the CP warned land grabbers to stair clear of the state, noting that their violent activities would not be tolerated by the command under his watch.
