The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Akwa Ibom State Council has commiserated with Gov. Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State over the demise of his wife, Patience.

The condolence message from NUJ was signed by the State Chairman, Mr Amos Etuk and Secretary, Mr Dominic Akpan, in Uyo on Friday.

The statement described the late governor’s wife as an extraordinary woman who touched countless lives through her pet project, Golden Initiative for All (GIFA). She was also a devout Christian who worked with selfless commitment in God’s vineyard.

“Her presence will be deeply missed, but her impact on the lives of many will never be forgotten. We are grateful for her life and the positive influence she had in our state,” the statement said.

The Union in the statement thanked God for the Christ-like life exhibited by the late woman throughout her sojourn on earth.

The union assured the Governor and Akwa First Family of its prayers in their moment of grief and prayed to the Almighty God to strengthen the Governor to bear the immense loss. Our correspondent reports that the state government through the Commissioner for Information, Mr. Ini Ememobong, had announced that the governor’s wife died on Sept. 26 in an undisclosed hospital.
