NSCDC urges officers on improved service delivery

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has charged officers of Akwa Ibom Command to strive towards improved performance for quality service delivery.

The State Commandant, Mr Eluyemi Eluwade, gave the charge on Wednesday during the third edition of the Commandant Quarterly Conference in Ikot Ekpene to evaluate performance and security threat in the state and proffer solutions.

Eluwade said that the leadership of the Corps will continue to provide avenues to review key performance indicators in line with the standard operating procedure of NSCDC.

The state commandant said that the corps has recorded appreciable improvement in the performance of officers since the last conference.

Eluwade said that participants at the conference will be divided into syndicates and given topics to brainstorm on and proffer implementable solutions.

He said each syndicate will be headed by a Deputy Commandant to discuss on farmers-herders clash, increasing rate of kidnapping and robbery, inadequate logistics as a cause of operational inefficiency and indiscipline, among other topics.

“The syndicates will brainstorm on causes, challenges, effects, and workable solutions.

“Resolutions reached from the brainstorming sessions will be forwarded to higher authorities and the State Government, who will facilitate their seamless implementation,” Eluwade said.

He urged officers not to rest on their oars, promising to reward the best three Division, best Area Command and best Department at the next conference.

In his remarks, the Chairman on the occasion, Mr John Cleton, commended NSCDC for contributing to ensure peace and adequate security in the state.

Cleton, who is the transition chairman of Ikot Ekpene Local Government Area, applauded the effort of the commandant towards positioning NSCDC as an elite security agency. 

Goodwill messages were presented by sister security agencies, such as the Nigeria Police, DSS, FRSC, NDLEA and Correctional Service
