The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Akwa Ibom State Command, has tasked the 300 promoted personnel of the command to reciprocate their promotion by exhibiting superior performance in their operations.
The State Commandant, Mr Eluyemi Eluwade, gave the task during the decoration of newly promoted personnel at the command headquarters in Uyo on Friday.
He noted that the number of 2023 promotion beneficiaries is the largest ever since the corps came into existence two decades ago.
The state commandant said that promotion is a huge motivation factor.
Eluwade specially congratulated officers who stagnated on one rank for six to 10 years, adding that God’s time is the best.
“To whom much is given, much is expected. As you ascend to a new position, remember that it also imposes responsibility on you.Â
“The corps expects you all to be dedicated, loyal and committed to helping the corps achieve its core mandates of protecting lives, properties, critical infrastructures and any task assigned to you as senior officers,” Eluwade said.
He said that four officers were decorated as Deputy Commandant of Corps, 15 officers were elevated to the rank of Assistant Commandant of Corps, 21 officers were decorated as Chief Superintendent of Corps and 30 officers were decorated as Superintendent of Corps, among others.
Speaking on behalf of the promoted staff, the Command Public Relations Officer, Mr Friday Ekerete, thanked the Minister of Interior, Mr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo and the Commandant General of NSCDC, Dr Abubakar Ahmed Audi for the kind gesture.
Ekerete said that the promotion would propel him and other personnel to perform better in his assigned task.
