NSCDC taxes recruits on discipline, good conduct

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Akwa Ibom command has urged recruits into the service whose training had commenced to be disciplined and of good conduct.
The State Commandant of NSCDC, Mr Abidemi Majekodunmi, stated this while addressing the cadet in Uyo on Thursday.
He said the training was the first phase of the induction training for the recruits, who would spend three months learning regimental orientation, mandates of the Corps and security ethics.
According to him, after the initial training, the trainees would proceed to career courses at NSCDC training colleges for further instructions for another three months.
“This training will expunge the civilian mentality in you and replace it with regimental discipline. I expect good conduct and good behaviour from all of you as you go through the rigours of the induced exercise,” Majekodunmi said.
Majekodunmi enjoined the 96 trainees to obey their instructors and all instructions as they were intended to mould them into disciplined and gallant officers.
The commandant reminded them that as officers of a paramilitary institution, they should be guided by the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and see themselves as ‘citizens in uniform’, which is a privilege.
