The Lagos State Government has dismissed reports circulating on some online platforms and blogs suggesting a rift between Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his Ogun State counterpart, Prince Dapo Abiodun.
A statement issued by the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr Gboyega Akosile, described the reports as false and misleading, stressing that they do not reflect the true relationship between the two leaders.
The statement read: “For the avoidance of doubt, Prince Dapo Abiodun and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu enjoy a very cordial and brotherly relationship.”
It noted that both governors maintain regular contact and meetings, often engaging on issues of mutual interest aimed at driving development in their respective states.
The statement added that the close relationship is further strengthened by the fact that Lagos and Ogun states share common boundaries and deep socio-cultural ties.
The Lagos State Government, therefore, urged individuals and groups spreading what it described as fake news to desist from attempting to sow discord between the two governors.
According to the statement, Governors Sanwo-Olu and Abiodun remain united by a shared vision of improving the welfare and quality of life of the people of their states.
