NIS urges newly promoted officers on service delivery, loyalty
The Comptroller, Nigeria Immigration Services, Akwa Ibom State Command, Mrs Francisca Dakat, has urged the newly promoted officers of the command on service delivery, loyalty, and commitment.
Dakat made the disclosure during the decoration ceremony of the promoted officers on Wednesday in Uyo.
She stated that the promotion became necessary to encourage some officers in their commitment, diligence, and hard work.
The comptroller, who attributed the promotions to God, urged the officers to serve as mentors to their subordinates to foster cooperation and professionalism.
“Promotion comes neither from the east nor the west but it comes from God. You need to celebrate because it is only God who allows you to get promoted even when you go through the back door, that you may not succeed.
“Today is a special day, particularly for the newly promoted officers. Promotion is meant to motivate officers to put in more effort,” she said.
The comptroller reminded the officers that their promotion is a call to duty and they must give their best to help the command succeed in its responsibilities.
She added: “Promotion is not a bed of roses because whom much is given, much is needed. Give in your best because your best is always your best.
“It is expected that if you use to come to work late, you should come to work early. If you did not use to stay at work, this is the time to do so.”
She urged those who could not scale through the promotion examination never to give up on themselves and that they should work harder to earn their promotion.
