NACAT inaugurates South South office in A’Ibom
The Network Against Corruption and Trafficking (NACAT) has Inaugurated its South South Office in Akwa Ibom to strengthen anti- corruption fight in the region.
The South South Coordinator of NACAT, Mr Michael Ekpo, told newsmen in Uyo on Sunday, during the inauguration that NACAT is determined to fight corruption to a standstill.
Ekpo said that corruption is the common enemy of the nation, stressing that all hands must be on deck to win the fight.
He said corruption is the reason behind the failed educational system, unemployment among the youth and dysfunctional healthcare services across the country.
“As an Agency, we are going all out to bring down this common enemy of ours, corruption.
“I implore us all to join forces together as we tackle this great enemy,” Ekpo said.
Ekpo added that corruption is the reason why Nigeria common patrimony is in the hands of few individuals while majority live in abject poverty.
“As Nigerians we have one common enemy, corruption. It is the reason behind our failed educational system, it is the reason behind our failed health care system.
“It is the reason our youths roam the streets unemployed, it is reason why our shared wealth is in the hands of a few, while the rest of the populace live in abject poverty and lack.
“This is a fight against corruption, a fight for a better Nigeria, a fight for accountability and transparency,” he said.
He said that the leaders must understand that the people them in those positions and there should be accountable to man and God.
He described the fight against corruption as the fight for a better Nigeria.
The south south coordinator appealed to all Nigerian citizens from all walks of life to join the group in tackling corruption
