MTN Champs Season 3: Uyo MVPs shine, as top athletes receive awards

The Top 10 Most Valuable Performers (MVPs) of the MTN Champs grand final were revealed during the MTN Champs Season 3 closing ceremony in Uyo after a day’s championship.

The MTN Champs Season 3 began in Lagos and then moved to Benin City, with the grand final in Uyo held at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium.

The 10 MVPs selected in Uyo were honoured for their outstanding performances across the four days of competition were; Abdulaleem Abdulsalam and Ebimoboere Christopher.

Others included; Saviour Nnokama, Bernice Onoriode, Victory Aganya, Muhammed Jimoh, Jesulayomi Ogundijo, Ejiro Peter, Miracle Sonny and William Stanley.

The 200m, 800m and High Jump finals across the four age categories were some of the events that concluded the final.

Faith Odumoso stole the spotlight in the Senior Women’s category while in the men’s final, Bayelsa’s Akumodogiyo Shalom George claimed the title.

The colourful closing ceremony of MTN Champs Season 3 had the following dignitaries in attendance: the Chairman of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Shehu Dikko, Secretary to Akwa Ibom State Government, Enobong Uwah, and executives from MTN, among others.
