Commodore Mohammed Manga, on Friday, formally commenced his tenure as the 14th Commanding Officer of Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) Jubilee, Ikot Abasi, Akwa Ibom State.
During the transfer of authority proceedings at NNS Jubilee Ikot Abasi, Manga, in his address, reaffirmed his dedication to the Chief of the Naval Staff’s (CNS’s) vision, mission, and command ethos.

Commodore Mohammed Manga, on Friday, formally commenced his tenure as the 14th Commanding Officer of Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) Jubilee, Ikot Abasi, Akwa Ibom State.
During the transfer of authority proceedings at NNS Jubilee Ikot Abasi, Manga, in his address, reaffirmed his dedication to the Chief of the Naval Staff’s (CNS’s) vision, mission, and command ethos.
He also underscored his commitment to rigorous adherence to operational guidelines aimed at addressing existing security concerns.
Manga conveyed gratitude to the CNS, Vice Adm. Idi Abbas, for the trust bestowed upon him.
The commanding officer affirmed his intention to uphold a significant degree of operational preparedness congruent with the directives of the Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Naval Command, Rear Adm. CD Okehie.
He lauded the accomplishments of his forerunner and vowed to build upon established advancements.
The newly appointed commanding officer requested the collaboration and backing of all staff members for the effective execution of the command’s responsibilities.
In his address, the departing Commanding Officer, Commodore Abubakar Umar, articulated his appreciation to officers, enlisted personnel, and civilian employees for their support and partnership throughout his period in office.
Umar underscored pivotal milestones attained during his assignment, encompassing the remodelling and enhancement of infrastructure alongside significant advancements in personnel well-being.
He implored personnel to grant his successor the equivalent fidelity and collaboration, so as to guarantee seamless transition and enduring advancement.
Principal elements of the ceremony encompassed the ratification of the handover documentation, alongside the conferring of the Ship’s Flag and Staff of Office to the commanding officer.
