LASEMA, stakeholders, prevent disaster at Ijegun

Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA has prevented another fire disaster by a tanker fully loaded with 33,000 litres of Premium Motor Spirit, PMS at a petrol filling station in Ijegun.

The Director General/Chief Executive Officer, LASEMA, Dr. Olufemi Damilola Oke-Osantintolu narrated the situation report on an overturned tanker at Ijegun Imore on Saturday.

“On arrival at the above scene, it was discovered that a 33,000 litre-tanker fully loaded with PMS fell on its side within the NIPCO fuel station.

“Preliminary information gathered revealed that the tanker while trying to drive into the fuel station, lost its balance and spilled its contents into drainage.

“Firefighters, the Lagos State Fire service, NIPCO fire department are on ground blanketing the spilled contents along the drainage system.

“Other agencies on ground include the Navy Fire department, the Nigeria Police, and LNSC,” he said.
