Officers of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency have rescued a motorist, who was trapped by two containers of a fallen truck, the agency DG/CEO, Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, has said.
According to him, the agency’s response team encountered a truck laden with two 20ft containers and a red Toyota Corolla with number plate APP745 DP, which was involved in an accident at the Stadium bridge inward Barracks.
Oke-Osanyintolu said on Friday, April 2 that further investigation revealed the cause to be mechanical fault from the truck which lost control while moving at high speed.
“This caused the container to fall on the red Toyota Corolla trapping the driver- an adult male who sustained a severe leg injury but was quickly extricated and attended to by the agency’s paramedics at the scene alongside LASAMBUS before being moved to a nearby hospital for further treatment,” he said.
It was learnt that the victim, Dr. Toluope was taken to Havanah Hospital for further care.
The truck and the car had been removed from the road with the aid of the agency’s heavy-duty equipment (Goliath) for free vehicular activities and handed over to the Nigerian Police at Area ‘C’.
