Lagos police arrest of suspected armed robbers

Police attacked to Sagamu Road Division, on Wednesday arrested two suspected armed robbers at Sabo area of Ikorodu around 1.30 pm.
The robbers were said to have attacked some motorists, passers-by, and motorists before they were caught by Nigerians and rescued by the police.
A woman, who was in a jeep, said the hoodlums robbed her of mobile phone and collected some cash from her at Sabo.
She stated that they opened fire to scare passers-by so that they could rob as they wanted.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Lagos State Command, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said they two armed robbers were almost lynched before the police eventually rescued them.
He said the suspects are Gbolahan Adebowale, m, 18 and Quadri Giwa Giwa Ajina, m, 21.
“They were almost lynched by angry mob in the area before they were eventually rescued.
“One barretta pistol was recovered from them. The CP has ordered that they be transferred to the state Criminal and Investigation Department proper investigation,” he said.
He added that the command will not leave any stone unturned to make Lagos safe, noting that every nook and cranny of the state will be adequately policed.
The PPRO added that efforts are on to apprehend other members of the gang as suspects are already making useful statements to assist the police in their investigation.
