Kidnapping: Council chairman constructs perimeter fencing

The chairman of Igbogbo/Baiyeku Local Council Developmental Area (LCDA), Mr Sesan Daini, has constructed a perimeter fencing at the Methodist Primary School, Igbogbo.

Daini was elected on July 22 alongside other 56 candidates during the local government elections in Lagos State.

Speaking during the handover of the perimeter fencing to school authority, Daini noted that the fortified perimeter fence would prevent pupils from being kidnapped, attacked by reptiles, and protect the school’s property against landgrabbers.

He said: “Incident of kidnapping is becoming rampant now, so we need to be proactive in protecting our children because they are the most vulnerable.

“Primary schools are integral part or even the most important institutions in a community. Therefore, it is imperative for us to keep the students and the property safe.

“Apart from securing the pupils and school property, fencing also helps to reduce environmental noise and make the environment conducive for learning.”

According to him, the idea was in fulfilment of his campaign promises as part of the manifestoes during the local government election to provide security of lives and property of residents in the LCDA.

Daini urged residents of the LCDA to rest assured that every campaign promise he had made and more would be fulfilled.

He advised the school authority and residents to maintain the edifice so that it can serve them for a long time.

“I will ensure all our campaign promises are delivered to the people of my community,” he said.
