Kidnapped Seriki’s brother, two others in Osun regain freedom

The younger brother to Seriki of Hausa Community, identified as Usman and two others kidnapped on the Ilesha/Ife expressway, have regained freedom.
It was gathered that the three were kidnapped at Osu community in the headquarters of Atakumosa West after which the gunmen contacted the Seriki of Iyere, Haruna Tanko, demanding N50 million as a ransom.
Seriki Tanko who spoke with The Nation, said the three have been released by the suspected gunmen.
The Police Public Relations Officer in Osun State, Yemisi Opalola, told CitizenDiary that the trios were released around 10.30pm on Sunday.
She stated that the police and other security agencies had been in the bush, combing every section of the place since they were kidnapped.
She added that the bush had been so tough for the abductors that they had no option but to free their victims without a ransom paid.
She said, “They were released around 10.30pm on Sunday. When the bush was so tough for them, they had to release them.
“The police and other security agencies had been in the bush since they were kidnapped. All the three persons were freed without a dime paid as ransom.”
