International Youth Day: Council boss urges youth on nation building

The Chairman of Ojokoro Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Mr Hammed Idowu D. Tijani, has urged youth to be progressive-minded in natuon building.

Tijani said he dedicated today, Saturday, 12 August, 2023 to celebrate with their teeming youths in his constituency and beyond.

He said: “As we celebrate International Youth Day which is a pointer to the youth-selected theme for the day with input from youth organizations and members of the UN Inter-Agency Network in Youth development.

“It is a known fact that the youth around the world are to organize activities to raise awareness about the situation of youth in their country, involvements in governance and other areas.

“I salute the Ojokoro Youths and the entire youth of this country. I urge you all to get involve in governance so as to understand its workings and not just following the flow of the social media which is sometimes misleading.”

He, however, appealed to the youths to be good citizens and ambassadors everywhere they found yourself.
