Ikorodu LG presents N1.77B appropriation bill for 2021

The chairman, Ikorodu Local Government, Mr Wasiu  Adesina, on Tuesday presented a proposed 2021 budget of N1.771,315,849,44 to the legislative arm of the council.

The budget themed:  ‘Rejuvenation’ was presented at the Legislative Chamber in the council secretariat at Ikorodu, Lagos.

He said the salaries of primary school teachers in the area would take the biggest share of the budget.

“Teachers’ annual salary is taking a large percentage of the total size amongst other projects of the year,” he said.

The council boss said projects and empowerment programmes and schemes would take a substantial part of the budget.

Adesina listed some of the proposed projects as construction of Legislative Chamber, surfacing of roads in various areas, reconstruction of drainages at different locations, gradings of roads construction of classrooms in primary schools.

He added that work would continue in ongoing and pending projects in the area.

The council boss appreciated and reminded everyone of the pandemic, urging them to maintain preventive measures to remain safe.

He assured everyone of” a rejuvenating year” with the execution all plans as contained in the budget.
