High courts deploy technology to block quacks from affidavit process

High courts in Bayelsa State have introduced the Electronic Affidavit Filling Process at its registries in an effort to check the activities of quacks and block associated revenue leakages.

A statement signed by Julius Nyananyo, Head of Media and Information at Bayelsa Judiciary Headquarters, on behalf of the Chief Registrar said the new procedure took effect from Sept. 26, 2022,

According to the statement, the payment procedure for Affidavits is henceforth through an online payment portal.

“This process is designed to weed out touts and maintain integrity and standardization of Court Affidavits.

“The E-Affidavit system or process is user-friendly, timely and applicant’s Data is secure and easily accessible,” the statement read in part.

Applicants who desire to swear affidavits are required to log on to the website: http://portal.bavelsajudiciary.gov.ng and create accounts and apply by submitting the required information.

According to the statement, upon successful submission of details for the affidavit including passport photographs and online payment, approval is given and the applicant can print out the affidavit.
