Group calls on support for Soludo, says he’ll accelerate development in Anambra

Advance Nigeria has endorsed the candidate of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, Professor Chukwuma Soludo for the Anambra State governorship election on Saturday, November 6, 2021.
According to the group, Anambra State has a peculiar history. It was in the jaws of the godfathers, to whom irrevocable standing order instrument was automatically redeemed by an installed governor.
Advance Nigeria added that the Government House, Awka was an extension of someone’s business empire. The group noted that coming from that background at that time, Governor Chris Ngige liberated the state from the fangs of death, even at the risk of kidnap by the godfather.
The chief administrator of Advance Nigeria, Ndubuisi Okafor, said two leaderships spanning 16 years of post-liberation, the state has steadied on its rise to development.
“Yet torn between forces of progression and retrogression it witnessed rivers of bloodshed suspected to have been unleashed by dark political forces that would rather prefer voter suppression and a fat win at the polls, to a free and fair election.
“The hitherto very peaceful State is therefore faced with multiple challenges of unusual violence, the upbeat of separatism in the larger South-East spearheaded by IPOB, economic sluggishness, challenges of infrastructural rebirth, continued rugged hold on the fortunes of the state away from hovering wild vultures, and great challenges of entrenching sustainable vision and prosperity.
“The ADVANCE NIGERIA having considered the governorship candidates, offering to be voted for as the Governor of Anambra State, endorses Professor Chukwuma Soludo, who it would cast vote for, was it to vote in the Anambra election,” he said.
He noted that Soludo is seen as a man with vast knowledge of the economy, blue-chip national and international contacts in persons, national and multilateral organisations. A strong character with no godfather, therefore, could progressively soar without limit.
His blue dream and vision for the state command attention; industrial hubs ringing the state, communication fibres all-round the state, knowledge-driven post-oil economy (even though Nigeria depends on oil), schemes on investments and prosperity are all the luxuriating features of his candidacy.
He added: “He portends another fruitful venture on the soil of the State, which was made progressively workable by Mr Peter Obi using business principles.
“If he became victorious, he would be expected to use his depth of knowledge as a technocrat and economic expert to redefine governance and knowledgeably but adventurously prosper the fortunes of the State. The two models are needed to rescue the larger Nigeria.
“The ADVANCE NIGERIA platform without hesitations endorses Professor Chukwuma Soludo for the governorship position in Anambra State.”
