Gombe Police recover body of 28-year-old varsity student
The Gombe State Police Command has launched an investigation following the discovery of the body of a 28-year-old student in Sabon Garin Yero Village, Akko Local Government Area.
The deceased, identified as Enoch Sunday Maisamari, was an undergraduate at the Federal University, Kashere. His body was recovered from a pool of stagnant water on Wednesday, 22 July 2026, at approximately 9:30 am.

Confirming the incident on Friday via a text message, the Police Public Relations Officer for the state command, DSP Buhari Abdullahi, stated that officers responded promptly after receiving reports of a motionless body found in the area.
Maisamari was subsequently transported to the General Hospital in Kashere, where medical staff certified him dead on arrival. According to the police spokesperson, preliminary examinations revealed no visible signs of violence on the body.
Authorities have advised members of the public to stay calm while investigations remain ongoing to determine the precise circumstances surrounding the student’s death.
