Four herders killed, four others missing in armed men reprisal attack
Four herdsmen have been killed by gunmen in Taraba State, Police have confirmed.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in Taraba, ASP Abdullahi Usman, said in a release that four young men and two women were murdered in a reprisal attack.
According to him, they were killed in an attack at Mungadoso village in Karim-Lamido Local Government Area of the state on Monday.
ASP Abdullahi Usman stated that some persons attacked a Fulani settlement in the area when they found corpse of a man who went missing in the village two days before the incident.
He said the villagers blamed the man’s death on herdsmen, leading to a retaliation.
He said four other occupants of the settlement were missing and that the police and vigilantes are in the bush searching for the missing persons.
