Former athlete to return medal, says his allegiance is for IPOB, not Nigeria

Former athlete who represented Nigeria at the 2003 African Junior Athletics Championships, Simon Ekpa, has vowed to return the medal he won for the country.

Ekpa in his Facebook post says he is to renounce Nigeria citizen adding that his allegiance is for the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.

According to Ekpa in his Facebook post, the Nigerian leaders have failed the country.

Ekpa said his action follows his allegiance to the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra, noting that he will “put everything I have to the disintegration of Nigeria”.

The Biafra agitator said this while reacting to a letter he claimed he received from the Institute of Management Consultants , Nigeria, nominating him for a fellowship.
