Prospective National Youth Service Corps members deployed to Bayelsa State have begun arriving at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Boro Town for the 2026 Batch C Stream I orientation course despite flooding along parts of the East-West Road.

The flood has disrupted movement around Agbarho in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State, with sections of the major highway reportedly cut off.

Despite the road challenges, prospective corps members have continued their journeys to the Bayelsa camp for the commencement of the orientation exercise.

Some of the arriving corps members declined requests for interviews, citing NYSC rules restricting them from speaking to journalists.

On arrival at the camp, the prospective corps members underwent security screening before proceeding to designated points for documentation and accommodation.

Camp officials, security personnel and representatives of collaborating agencies were deployed to manage the influx and ensure an orderly registration process.

Activities at the camp were ongoing smoothly, with officials attending to the prospective corps members at various registration and accommodation points.

The orientation course forms part of the NYSC programme for the 2026 Batch C Stream I corps members deployed to Bayelsa State.
