Ex-reps spokesman Eyiboh appeals tribunal judgment

Ofonime Honesty, Uyo

Mr Eseme Eyiboh, a one-time spokesman of the House of Representatives and candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2023 House of Representatives election in Eket Federal Constituency, Akwa Ibom State, has approached the Court of Appeal Holden in Calabar, Cross River State, to redress the judgment confirming Mr Okpulupm Etteh as the winner of the election.

Eyiboh’s appeal is on 9 grounds, accompanied by particulars of errors in the judgement of the three-man tribunal panel which sat in Uyo.

Etteh, who is of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been served the appeal summons and is expected to file his response before the parties exchange their brief of arguments.

The Court of Appeal has 60 days from the date of judgment to adjudicate on every appeal case.

It could be recalled that Eyiboh’s petition had sought the disqualification of the PDP candidate based on alleged forgery which implied the ineligibility of Mr Etteh for the election.
