EndSARS anniversary: Police arrest two journalists, disperse protesters in Osogbo, Lagos
A journalist with Daily Post, Sikiru Obarayese, has been arrested in Osogbo capital of Osun State on Wednesday as police dispersed protesters commemorating one-year memorial anniversary of #EndSARS protesters.
The protesters had marched from Ita-Olokan area to Oja-Oba, Station Road, post office, Old Garage and Oke-Fia before they were dispersed.
Some of the protesters were arrested during the process.
Obarayese after being brutalised by the police attached to Osogbo State Police Command, this afternoon.
When contacted, the Oshogbo State Police Public Relations Officer, a Superintendent of the Police SP Opalola Yemisi said, “We are managing the situation.”
Also, as a Legit Journalist was arrested in Lagos for carrying out his official duties, covering the Lekki Toll Gate protest, but according to the Lagos Command Police Public Relations Officer, a Chief Superintendent of Police, CSP Adekunle Ajisebutu, who confirmed to the newsmen that he had been released after the intervention of the Lagos Command Commissioner of Police CP Hakeem Olusegun Odumosu.
