Sen. Ita Enang has urged Akwa Ibom youths and women to ensure that they participate massively in the ongoing All Progressives Congress (APC) registration/revalidation exercise going on across the country.

He said this after his registration and revalidation of his membership as APC member on Sunday at his hometown, Eastern Ward 2 unit 12 in Ididep, Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area in Akwa Ibom.

Enang, who is the Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari, on Niger Delta Affairs said APC is the biggest, strongest party and was led by the most transparent and honoured leader in Africa.

He urged all Akwa Ibom people, especially the youths and women to come out en masse and participate in the registration and revalidation exercise.

He said that the registration and revalidation process was to boost membership strength of the party and to ensure that those who were willing to join the APC get the opportunity to do so.

“Let me thank you for this opportunity you have come to witness as I come to formally register and  revalidate my membership of the All Progressive Congresss.

“The All Progressive Congress is the biggest party in the whole of Africa, it is the strongest party and led by most honored and transparent man in the whole of Africa, President Muhammadu Buhari.

“I call on Ibiono Ibom people, all Akwa Ibomites, men and women, young and old to seize the opportunity of becoming card-carrying members of our great party,” Enang said.

The Presidential Aide thanked the national leadership of the party for considering an Akwa Ibom son, Sen. Akpan James Udoedeghe worthy and good enough to be the National Secretary of the party.

According to him, it as an honour to Akwa Ibom State and South-South for finding our son worthy and was not taken for granted.

Enang said the registration was not for anybody’s personal interest or ambition but for individual registration irrespective of the candidate of your choice.

“I use this opportunity to let everybody know that this registration is not for anybody’s personal interest or ambition.

“It is to register members of the party so that whether you are supporting A or B or C for Senate, House of Assembly, President or for Governor of Akwa Ibom State, please let everybody come and register.

“The time to choose who will be the governorship candidate, the presidential candidate, the Senatorial candidate and all the other candidates will be during the nomiregiste.

“So the registration is for all members of the party. Let me report to the Chairman of the Committee, that I am impressed with the high caliber of the PDP members who have come to join and register in APC.

“Most of them have been supporting us discreetly but they have now come out to register and that they want to make sure that government in Akwa Ibom State is rid off of PDP and the next governor of the state will be from APC,” he saAPC

In his remarks, Sen. Abubakar Geiri, Chairman of the APC National Membership  Registration/Validation Committee in Akwa Ibom said the process was a foundation for APC to take over the Government of Akwa Ibom in 2023.

He urged Akwa Ibom people to ensure active participation in the ongoing registration and revalidation exercise accordingly.

Geiri said that President Buhari was the president of the masses, that was why he called for revalidation of membership to enable the masses take over the party.

He said the exercise would afford everyone the opportunity of becoming a member of the All Progressives Congress Party in the country.

“We are particularly calling on the youths and women to come out en masse and own this party, because we have almost done our own, we are on our way out and we want our sons and daughters to come and take over from us.

“The starting point is this registration. With this registration, which you have already shown clearly by coming out in en masse to register,” Geiri said.
