EFCC arrests 12 suspected illegal BDC operators in Lagos

Operatives of the Lagos Zonal Directorate 1 of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have arrested 12 suspected illegal Bureau de Change BDC operators.
According to a statement on Thursday and signed by Dele Oyewale, Head, Media & Publicity, the suspects were arrested on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, following credible intelligence and thorough surveillance regarding their alleged operation of BDCs without the requisite licenses.
He said the operatives recovered items like cash and exotic jewellery from the suspects.
He added that the suspects were currently undergoing further investigation and would be arraigned in court soon.
