EFCC arraigns man for stealing N10m in Kano

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Monday arraigned one Ibrahim Yuguda at a Kano State High Court over alleged theft.
A statement from the EFCC noted that Yuguda is arraigned before Justice Maryam Sabo on one count of criminal breach of trust.
“You Ibrahim Yuguda between April 2018 and February 2019 at Kano within the jurisdiction of the Kano State High Court being entrusted with certain property to wit: the sum of N10, 800,000 (Ten million, eight hundred thousand naira) only property of Mohammed Ibrahim did dishonestly misappropriate the money and thereby committed an offense contrary to section 311 of the Penal Code and punishable under section 312 of the same Law,” the statement read.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge while the prosecution counsel Musa Isah requested a date for trial.
According to the statement, the counsel representing the defendant, Aminu Umar Yakasai, applied for bail on behalf of the defendant.
“Justice Sabo granted the defendant bail in the sum N2,000,000 (Two million naira) only and two sureties in like sum.
