Creek FM Yenagoa will bounce back August, says FRCN D-G

The Director-General of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), Dr. Muhammad Bulama, has pledged to revive Radio Nigeria Creek 106.5 FM in Yenagoa within two months.
Bulama, who is in Yenagoa on a spot assessment visit to the station, said that every necessary thing would be put in place to ensure the station bounces back by the end of August.
During the visit the Director General directed the Zonal Director South-South zone Mr Lucky Obarein who accompanied him to furnish him with the necessary things needed for progress of the work to meet the two months timeline for the station to come back on air, noting that as the flagship of Radio broadcasting in Nigeria, every Radio Nigeria station needs to live up to the corporation’s mandate of uplifting the people and uniting the nation.
The Director General, who commended the staff for their steadfastness, also advised them to continue to be dedicated, diligent and committed to their work as management is doing everything possible to improve on staff welfare.
The DG equally enjoined staff to develop themselves both educationally and in other fields, as Management is ready to support them.
Zonal Director, Radio Nigeria South South Zone Obarein expressed joy at the DG’s visit and promised to work to ensure the station comes back on air soon.
The D-G and team also paid a courtesy visit to the Bayelsa Commissioner for Information, Mrs Ebiuwou Koku-Obiyal, to discuss collaboration between FRCN and the state government.
A violent windstorm had destroyed the broadcast mast of the station located at the Ekeki area of Yenagoa, hampering the reach of the station.
