Court adjourns Nnamdi Kanu trial to October 21

The Federal High Court, Abuja presided over by Justice Binta Nyako has adjourned the trial of leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu to October 21, 2021.
The adjournment was caused by the Federal Government to produce him in court. The presiding judge insisted he cannot be tried in absentia.
Earlier on Monday, supporters of Nnamdi Kanu, lawyers including journalists had a running battle with the security operatives restricting access to court.
Controversy trailed the coverage of the case when the Federal High Court in the prompting of the Department of State Security accredited only 10 media houses for the proceedings. This was later increased to 12 amidst criticism.
