Congestion as trucks crash on Lagos bridge

Commuters going to the Lagos Island and the Apapa areas of Lagos State were on Wednesday morning stranded following an accident involving a container-laden truck and a tanker on the Alaka bridge inward Eko bridge.

It was learned that both trucks entirely occupied the two-lane road, creating a gridlock that forced officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Agency at the scene to divert traffic.

“All Eko Bridge bound traffic is being detoured via Costain and onto the Eko Bridge.

“Men strategically located even as safety measures are being out in place and rescue teams en route to recover and evacuate,” LASTMA said on its Twitter handle.
