Ibom Air and official airline of the Captain’s Day Inaugural Golf Tournament, will on March 29, 2025, hold Ibom Golf and Country Club, Uyo.

Aniekan Essienette, Group Manager, Marketing, and Communication, Ibom Air, said the partnership aligns with one of Ibom Air’s strategic thrusts: promoting tourism in the state by providing capacity for delegates and visitors to attend meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE).

He added that the tournament was set on one of West Africa’s most renowned and challenging 18-hole golf courses, and promises to be a landmark sporting event.

According to him, the amateur tournament would bring together golfers with handicaps ranging from 0 to 36, attracting participants across Nigeria and Africa.

He noted that as part of the experience, activities would commence with an Ibibio-themed cocktail reception on March 28 at 7 pm, providing players, business leaders, and guests, a platform to network before the main tournament.

Speaking on the partnership, Mr. George Uriesi, Executive Director/Chief Operating Officer of Ibom Air, and an avid golfer, stated: “At Ibom Air, we support initiatives that foster tourism, economic growth, and regional connectivity.
