BREAKING: Tinubu sworn-in as 16th Nigeria’s President

The former Governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been administered oaths of office and allegiance by the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Olukayode Ariwoola, thereby emerging the 16th President of Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Tinubu took the oaths at about 10.37am on Monday morning at the Eagles Square venue of the Presidential Inauguration Ceremony.

His wife, Senator Remi Tinubu, alongside former President Muhammadu Buhari and his family members were standing beside Tinubu when he took the oaths.

There has been protests and misgivings trailing Tinubu’s emergence following reports of electoral malfeasance allegedly superintended by Yakubu Mahmoud’s Independent National Electoral Commission.

The aggrieved Presidential candidates of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Labour Party (LP), Alh. Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi respectively with their parties are already arguing their cases in the Presidential Elections Tribunal.

The elections no doubt has further polarised the country with quasi ethnic cleansing in the area of residence, business and politics is being witnessed in some parts of the country, especially in Lagos.
The newly Sworn-In has no doubt promised to fix Nigeria’s problem.
There is no doubt that the realities Nigeria’s political and social misnomer seem to have become a new normal in our chequered history.
It is hopefully believed that Tinubu might just tell himself the truth and follow the path of honour through disinterested policies, programmes and actions of his government.
Can Tinubu bring to an end the seeming proliferation of call for self determination across the country? Can he find ways to sacrifice self goals to fix Nigeria’s debilitating economy?
A day begins the history and actions and goals set will make even and interesting one. All eyes on Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the 16the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
