Bouncer stabs 15-year-old boy to death for picking money at wedding
Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have arrested a bouncer, Francis Utuedor, for stabbing a 15-year-old boy teenager, Oghenemaro Eriana, to death at a wedding reception in Mofor, Udu Local Government Area of the state.
It was learnt that the incident occurred during the wedding reception held on Saturday, September 25 after the secondary school student had attempted to pick up some naira notes being sprayed on the dancing couple and the overzealous bouncer grabbed and stabbed him.
Sources said the deceased, who lived along Kolokolo Street in Udu Road, had gone to the wedding party with his mother.
It was gathered that the deceased and his mother were neighbours of the groom – hence their presence at the wedding ceremony.
According to the source, the deceased’s mother lost her older son about two months ago before the tragic death of another son happened.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Edafe Bright, on Monday confirmed the murder of the teenager, adding that the suspect has been arrested.
He said “It happened at Wetland Hotel; the deceased was a 15-year-old boy. The suspect is in our custody and the case has been transferred to State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID). The body has been deposited at the mortuary waiting for autopsy.”
