APC accuses Emmanuel of mismanaging A’Ibom resources

The All Progressives Congress (APC) party has accused Governor Udom Emmanuel of mismanaging Akwa Ibom State funds.
The State Chairman of APC, Stephen Leo Ntukekpo alleged that Emmanuel uses the state’s funds to build a mansion in Lagos as revealed by the APC Presidential candidate, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu during the party’s rally in Uyo.
Ntukekpo, who stated this in a press release on Saturday made available to our correspondent in Uyo, noted that Tinubu did not insult the people of the state by referring to Emmanuel as a ‘boy’ but used the analogy to point to his mismanagement and performance.
Describing the achievements of Emmanuel as ‘Lilliputian’, compared to that of former Governor, Godswill Akpabio who built the stadium used for the APC campaign, Ntukekpo advised Emmanuel to apology to Akwa Ibom people for financial recklessness and plundering of the State’s funds.
The Chairman denied a purported press release emanating from the party commending Emmanuel for allowing the APC make use of the International Stadium during its Presidential rally/campaign.
“Asiwaju’s comment is not in any way a reference to the good people of Akwa Ibom State but an expose of Udom’s financial mismanagement and Lilliputian performance as Governor of Akwa Ibom by which measure calling him a ‘boy’ is even flattering.
“Apparently, Asiwaju even deserves commendation for exposing diversion of our State’s resources by Mr Udom Emmanuel to build a palatial mansion in Lagos.
“Rather than grandstanding, Gov. Udom ought to issue an unreserved apology to Akwa Ibom people for the orgy of financial recklessness and plundering of our common patrimony through dubious schemes and white elephant projects.
“The Udom administration has been characterized by mindless looting and brazen embezzlement of pensions, gratuities and other entitlements, a situation that has plunged our people into poverty and deprivation for nearly eight years now.
“Only recently, we were made to understand that series of payments in excess of 600 billion, being refunds from the APC led Federal Government, were made from the federation account to Akwa Ibom State of which the current Udom led administration has been unable to satisfactorily explain how the funds were used nor justify how such humongous amounts of money have been expended without the impact being felt by the people of our state.
“These heinous crimes against our State and our people have heightened the desperation of the Udom Emmanuel administration to foist a stooge as his successor to cover his tracks.
However, the machinations of the PDP administration of Gov. Emmanuel Udom are doomed to fail as Akwa Ibom people are resolute in their resolve to vote Obong Akanimo Udofia and the All Progressives Congress as a viable, competent and credible alternative to restore good governance, sanity, probity and accountability into the government and governance of Akwa Ibom State,” he stated.
