A’Ibom Police promote officers, prioritise welfare

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has decorated two newly promoted Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs), conducted hepatitis screening for personnel and reaffirmed its commitment to effective policing during its monthly strategic conference.
The conference, held on 3 August 2026, brought together senior officers to review the security situation across the state, assess ongoing operations and strengthen strategies for intelligence-led policing, crime prevention, public safety and improved service delivery.
Addressing participants, Baba Mohammed Azare urged officers to remain disciplined, proactive and professional in the discharge of their constitutional duties. He also stressed the need for enhanced intelligence gathering, collaboration and operational effectiveness to further strengthen security across Akwa Ibom State.
A major highlight of the event was the decoration of two senior officers recently promoted from the rank of Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) to Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP). The officers are: Nnudam Korsere Fredrick and Augustine Udourioh Joseph
Azare congratulated the promoted officers and described their elevation as a call to greater leadership, accountability and selfless service. He urged them to justify the confidence placed in them through exemplary conduct, integrity, professionalism and dedication to the core values of the Nigeria Police Force.
As part of activities marking World Hepatitis Day and promoting personnel welfare, the Command’s Medical Services Department conducted hepatitis screening for officers and other personnel. The exercise was aimed at encouraging early detection, raising health awareness and promoting regular medical check-ups.
Azare reiterated that the health, welfare and professional development of police personnel are critical to effective policing and service delivery.
He assured residents of Akwa Ibom State that the Command would continue to strengthen its operational capacity, uphold professionalism and sustain proactive policing strategies to safeguard lives and property while maintaining peace and security across the state.
