A’Ibom police present ₦39.97m cheques to fallen officers’ families
beneficiaries, comprising the families and next of kin of deceased police officers who served the Nigeria Police Force with distinction.

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has presented welfare cheques totalling ₦39,967,409.28 to 51 beneficiaries, comprising the families and next of kin of deceased police officers who served the Nigeria Police Force with distinction.
Presenting the cheques on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, the Commissioner of Police, Baba Mohammed Azare, emphasised that the gesture reflects the Force’s enduring appreciation for the sacrifices made by the departed officers.
“While no amount of money can replace the lives of our departed colleagues, this intervention demonstrates that the Nigeria Police Force has not forgotten their service, sacrifice, or the families they left behind,” Azare stated.
He conveyed the deepest sympathies of the Inspector-General and the command to the bereaved families, urging them to use the funds prudently for family development and education.
The beneficiaries include Edidiong Enoh Umoh, Edidiong Umem Okon, Praise Ochanya Paul, David Umem Okon, Emem Enoh Umoh, Eno Obong Monday I, Nwobodo Nwanganga, Uwakiafoe Itoro Udo, Favour Miracle I, Emem Udak Okon, Godspower Udak Okon, Emmanuel Ndiereka A., Rose Ndifreke Archibong, and Stephen Meshak Ugo, among others.
Speaking on behalf of the recipients, Aniedi Joseph Etuk expressed appreciation to the Inspector-General of Police and the State Commissioner of Police for prioritising the welfare of fallen heroes, assuring that the funds would be used judiciously.
DSP Timfon John, Police Public Relations Officer for the Akwa Ibom State Command, noted that the Force remains committed to honouring its fallen heroes and upholding its duty of care to their loved ones.
